Over three dozen Cheyenne and Arapaho warriors were taken from their families in 1875 and transported to Fort Marion, a structure built by the Spaniards in the 1600s. In November of 2022, the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes traveled to St. Augustine, FL to meet with the National Parks Service and discuss the best way to tell their story. Tribal leaders shared training sessions with NPS, and also shared information with nearby Flagler College. “Lost Warriors” is a short documentary about the project.
