Twenty years after Disney decided to make a film based on the popular theme park ride from Disneyland it's hard to remember how risky of a move it was. But the breakout success of Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl proves that with a good story and a director like Gore Verbinski at the helm great things can happen! Starring Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow, this swashbuckling seafaring adventure breathed new life into the pirate genre (and spawned far too many sequels) and is certainly worth revisiting on the big screen at the Babcock for its 20th Anniversary!
